The Christmas Share Store, held the second Saturday in December, is an annual event which always brings a flurry of activity! 40 participants in our Quality Living and IMAGE classes saved their vouchers from their classes all year so they could come and pick out Christmas gifts for their families without out of budget spending! We gathered in the sanctuary of host church Grace UMC and shared a devotional reflecting on the gift of Jesus and then we headed out to “shop” in the fellowship hall! We are so thankful to all who made this day a success, especially to Grace UMC and Pastor Jane Ellen Johnson for opening their church building and working with us to share the gift of Jesus and his love! |

The Sound Off for Poverty is an exciting opportunity to engage your students to take action against poverty in America while teaching them about God’s heart for the poor.
Through the Sound Off for Poverty, youth are challenged to tune out life’s distractions and tune in to God’s heart for people in need. By participating in a Media Fast (abstaining from electronic entertainment for at least 48 hours), youth take time to participate in Bible lessons, service projects, and fundraising activities that teach them how they can be a voice for people in need and make a significant impact in the lives of the poor.
The Sound Off for Poverty is a ministry of Love In the Name of Christ, a national movement focused on mobilizing local churches to reach across denominational lines and transform the lives of the poor.
Will you join us this spring? March is National Sound Off for Poverty Month (though you can do the program any time you wish). To find out more, call the Christian Services/Love INC office at 394-5413. All the materials you need are provided free of charge. |
